Help me, Lucy

When the going gets tough, I hide. Hunker down and try to avoid any and everything. It’s impossible, with kids and a family, to get away with it too long, but I’ve done fairly well with my hibernation the last few months. Except for occasional trips~the Dallas and OC signings were AWESOME~I’ve managed to hibernate before winter even starts.

Today I’m forcing myself out of the fog. I’m sad about my mom. My father-in-law also passed away last week. I’m still grieving the friend who was like a brother who passed away last year. I’m just sad, period. But I’m gonna never come out of it if I don’t snap out of it soon. So here we go.

What do you do when you’re depressed? Usually I write, sing, force myself to be with my loves, exercise, take Vit D…I’m doing all but the writing right now, which makes me mighty cranky. Writing is my best medicine. So this little blogpost is me forcing myself to write. Aren’t you lucky? :)

Pinterest!

Thank you for joining me on the blog hop! This is the final day, so let’s go celebrate on … Pinterest! :) Have had so much fun working on boards. There’s a little bit of everything over there—teasers, a few reviews (working on getting more on there), and inspiration for each book…

Here’s a little taste of what you’ll see~a few people that remind me of my characters. If you don’t like to see the characters, look away … and just keep your mental picture intact. If not, join me on a little picture album journey.

And more over on Pinterest…I’d love to see who you see as these characters too! xo

I’m having a meltdown. Not the put-her-in-the-loony-bin kind, but the rock-in-the-corner-so-I-can-breathe kind. Maybe they’re one and the same and I really do need to be put away, but I think I just need a little air. I’m bone tired. My eyes look li…

I’m having a meltdown. Not the put-her-in-the-loony-bin kind, but the rock-in-the-corner-so-I-can-breathe kind. Maybe they’re one and the same and I really do need to be put away, but I think I just need a little air. I’m bone tired. My eyes look like I haven’t slept in weeks. I’m eating my feelings and developing a pudge that isn’t gonna go anywhere if I keep binging on chocolate, nachos and wine.
I’m 28 and everyone has left me. I have no friends. My boyfriend left. My mom died, so technically she left me too. I hate my job.
I get this overwhelming oh my God, is this what my life is gonna be? feeling and I want to die.
Curl up and die.
And since I don’t feel my heartbeat fading or my breathing getting even slightly faint, I panic that I’m gonna have to live.

Maybe Maby is a heartbreaking, and at times, hilarious story about coping with loss, finding love in New York, and learning to recognize hope in the middle of it all.

Maybe Maby is available as an ebook from Amazon or in paperback from Createspace.

What people are saying about Maybe Maby:

“Chaotic and passionate, Maybe Maby is an outstanding display of emotions. This book hurt in the best possible way, and I’m not sure I’ve ever rooted for a character more than Maby. She is such a beautiful soul haunted by her own demons, and watching her overcome them was nothing short of miraculous. And her champion…he is just the perfect kind of swoon. Their moments were hot, intense, and tender, making me fall for the two of them hard and fast. A romance that is so much more–touching…unique…unforgettable–Maybe Maby is a phenomenal read you can’t miss.” –A.L. Jackson, New York Times Bestselling Author

“I have a new book boyfriend and he resides within the pages of this book. Sharp wit, swoon-worthy romantic gestures and the tackling of difficult, but very real, topics come together beautifully in Maybe Maby.” – Melissa Brown, author of Picturing Perfect

“Quirky, funny, sexy, heartwarming, swoon-worthy perfection. I can think of a million words to describe this book and all of them make me smile. Maby is adorable. Saul makes my insides flutter. Dalton clouded my head. And Coen made me feel … so much. I love this story! I just finished it and I already want to go back and read it again!” – Claire Contreras, author of The Darkness SeriesCatch Me, and The Contracts and Deceptions Series

Maybe Maby is a book I will pick up often, and fall in love with again and again. Well done, Ms. Aster. This is a masterpiece.” – Maggi Myers, The Final Piece and Lily Love

“A brilliantly written romance of a beautifully dysfunctional mind.” – Leslie Fear, author of Villere House

TBR List

A friend on Facebook asked to see my To-Be-Read list, so I thought I’d put it together here…

It’s an eclectic mixture. My list goes on and on, but the ones below are books I hope to read in the immediate future. I’d love to hear what you’re reading/wanting to read too.

I’m stuck on book 2 of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. I do love the writing, and I really love the characters, but sometimes if I’m too sleepy (which is a lot lately) all the description makes me doze. However, I do like it enough to keep reading it and know that it’s one I will most likely read on a quiet, rainy day.

I’ve been wanting to read A.L. Jackson’s books and am now reading Come To Me Softly, the 2nd book in the Regret series. I’m enjoying it.

Every morning or night I read from these two books. Each day has its own page. A Daily Dose of Sanity by Alan Cohen and Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.

Long ago, I read the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers and LOVED them. I want to re-read them and see if they resonate as much now as they did then.

What’s Left of Me by Amanda Maxlyn

The Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

Attachments by Rainbow Rowell

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers

Oleander Girl by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling

And I’m trying to catch up on every single Jojo Moyes book out there. (My favorite so far of hers has been The Last Letter From Your Lover.)
